“Reach Out and Touch Somebody”

“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd” (Matthew 9:36 NKJV)
“She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy” (Proverbs 31:20 NKJV).

The Lord had been speaking to me about these verses for about a week. One afternoon a heavily pregnant woman came to our clinic for her last appointment. It was obvious that she was very exhausted. To intensify her agony the weather outside was scorching hot.

I asked her, “Would you like a bottle of water? It’s mine though, it’s unopened, but you can have it”. She accepted my offer, took what was mine and drank the water with no further delay. When she disposed the bottle in the trash can, she looked down and said, “thank you.”

This was such a strong moment. Why? Well, because first of all, the Word of the Lord had now been manifested. Secondly, I had something she needed. Thirdly, she took what was mine. And last but not least, I would say that this gesture was something out of the box and a life was profoundly touched.

Friend of God, now or never, you need to reach out to an exhausted world. Please open your heart and eyes today to a world that desperately needs what you have. Reach out with a little kindness, touch somebody for Christ and make this world a better place!

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
